Obituary

KOELBLIN (Hudek), Zita age 83 of Fairfield died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at Tri-County Extended Care. She was born in Hamilton, Ohio on January 10, 1929, the daughter of Earl and Luella (Konrad) Hedges, attended St. Joseph School and graduated from Notre Dame High School. She married Joseph F. Hudek Sr. on June 24, 1950 and he preceded her in death on November 13, 1984. On June 20, 1992 she married Richard Koelblin and he preceded her in death on December 12, 1999. Zita had been a parishioner and usher at St. Julie Billiart Church where she enjoyed interaction with all the people at church. When she moved in with son and daughter-in-law, three years ago, she became a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Fairfield. She was a thirty-four year employee of Ohio Casualty playing Mrs. Santa Claus for eighteen years, where she enjoyed making people happy. An active member of the VFW post 1069 auxiliary, Senior Citizen, AMVETS, Moose Lodge, and the Eagles, she also was a member of the Retirees of Ohio Casualty.

Survivors include her son, Joseph (Mary Lou) Hudek Jr.; two granddaughters, Jen and Jill Hudek; one great-granddaughter, MaryRose Hudek; a sister, Janet Adelsperger and many nieces and nephews; a very good friend, Ruth Keller.

Besides her husbands, she was also preceded in death by her parents, Brother, Charles "Buddy" Hedges; a sister, Eileen Hedges.

The family wishes to express their thanks to Tri-County Extended Care and Hospice of Cincinnati for their loving care of Zita.

Prayers will be offered at 10:30 am Friday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am Friday at the Sacred Heart Church with Fr. Larry Tharp celebrant. Visitation will be from 9:00am-10:30am Friday in the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Cincinnati or Sacred Heart Church.
