Donna Jean Bachmann, age 80, of Hamilton, OH, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Ft. Hamilton Hospital. She was born in Hamilton, OH, on November 22, 1945, the daughter of Arthur Lee and Elsie Marie (Meyer) Engel.

Donna attended Talawanda Schools growing up. She dedicated her life to caring for others through an extraordinary 53-year career as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Golden Years Nursing Home, achieving the distinction of being the very first nurse employed at the facility. Beyond her lifelong commitment to her profession, Donna’s true devotion was always to her family. In her free time, she loved trying her luck at the slot machines. Above all, her greatest joy was her family and the precious time spent surrounded by those she loved.

She is survived by her children, John Bachmann, Donald (Malinda) Bachmann, Douglas Bachmann, Kelly (Jay) Kaehler, and Nancy Bachmann—whom she raised as her own; her sister, Janet Grissom; her nine grandchildren, Brandon Bachmann, Kyle (Kayla) Minor, Ciara (Cody) Allen, Haley (Joey) Bachmann, Hannah (Tyler) Bachmann, Ryan Kaehler, Kaylin (Nathan) Ciavarella, Douglas Bachmann Jr., and Abbey Bachmann; and ten cherished great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her life partner, Donald Burns; her parents, Arthur Lee and Elsie Marie Engel; and her sister, Carolyn Spivey.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 11, 2026, in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave. from 10:00am-12:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 11 in the Zettler Funeral Home at 12:00pm. Burial will follow at Millville Cemetery.
