James J. Wiegand age 94 of Hamilton, Ohio passed away Saturday June 27, 2026 at his home. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio on December 8, 1931 the son of Edwin and Mildred (Meyer) Wiegand after their premature death he was raised by his grandparents George and Clara Meyer. Jim graduated from Hamilton Catholic High in 1950 and went on to serve in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954. On May 18, 1957, in St. Stephen Church he married Mary Kay Beer. Jim was a member of St. Joseph Church where he was an usher for many years. He was a member of K of C Father Butler Council.

Jim worked for Smurfit Graphic Arts for 40 years. Jim loved to hike and camp, visiting many of the National Parks and all 50 states.

Preceded in death by brother Edwin Wiegand and sister-in-law Annajean.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Kay (Beer) Wiegand; 4 children, James (Kathy) Wiegand, Linda (Jim) Savage, Tricia (Doug) Childs, and Annette (Chris) Bowles; 9 Grandchildren Megan, Matt(Amanda), Sara, Lauren(Taylor), Andrew(Kacie), Greg, Allison, Amanda(Kevin), and Samantha; 5 great grandchildren Xander, Juliana, Ashlynn, Olivia, and Levi; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00am Wednesday July 1, 2026 in St. Joseph Church 171 Washington St. Hamilton, Ohio 45011 followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am. Entombment will be in St. Stephen Mausoleum. Online register book at www.zettlerfuneralhome.com
